Digital photography never looked so analog. The Hipstamatic brings back the look, feel, unpredictable beauty, and fun of plastic toy cameras of the past! The Hipstamatic keeps the the quirks of shooting old school but gives you the ability to swap…..
What's New in Version 201
** Version 201 fixes a bug with iOS 4.2.6 (Verizon iPhone) and iOS 4.3 which caused crashes when setting up a Hipstaccount (and also prevented downloading the new Fashion FreePak) **
It also includes all the new goodies from the 200, including:
* Quicksta Snap film queue system - as you shoot images are processed in the background, enabling you to rapid-fire up to nine images in a row without waiting for processing (requires iOS 4)
* Camera Bag organization system - rearrange and disable lenses, flashes, and films, as well as specifying ones for shake-to-randomize
* Improved HipstaMart, with shiny new FreePak products
* New HipstaPak: Soho HipstaPak (Chunky lens, Cano Cafenol film, Blanko Noir film, and Mr. Bling Camera Case)
* Other bug fixes and user interface refinements

In order to use the hipstamatic website you need to give up the rights to your images.
Not that it matters. The latest update seems to crash it every time I take a photo.

It keeps asking you to buy and buy and buy more lenses. Its so stupid. Wated $1.99
Plus the lenses you buy are not all that.
it has come along way!

i've been a longtime fan of this app, and have been satisfied enough with the app that i will generally purchase any add-ons they release. i can't seem to pinpoint what the levi's holiday lens even does, so i was starting to think we're hitting the limit of distinct effects they can charge for. however, i am happy with what they've released so far, and i still find great pairings of lens and film to keep things interesting for myself.
i think the organizing of your photos is too limited to be useful, and i really wish there was a true precision framing option in the settings. it's often slow to process and develop, but i've never used an app that produces more consistently better-looking photos. i have a lot of fun using the app and sharing the pictures i like the most, and that's really what photography should be about.
the ability to customize which equipment is used with the shake-to-randomize is great. i never used the feature before, but now that i can have a bit more control over it, i like it. and it's nice that you can take several pictures in succession now, but it seems like it takes longer to develop even a single shot.
update: i'm still buying their packs and liking every one! the black/gold case is the first case i've actually liked, and the new cano cafenol film is quickly becoming a new favorite.
